Hit-and-Run Fire Hydrant Crash

March 2, 2012

Officials say there is water damage to two floors and an elevator shaft at Scripps Mercy Hospital caused by a hit-and-run driver striking a fire hydrant today. A fire-rescue dispatcher says the crash happened today at 4:30 a.m. Water gushed from the hydrant until crews could get it turned off around 6:15 a.m.
